Hauz Khas

Hauz khas is one of the most affluent and posh neighbourhoods in south delhi. It is centrally located & peaceful with a lot of greenery.
It is surrounded by Green Park, SDA(Aurobindo Marg) to the west, Gulmohar Park(Balbir Saxena Marg) towards the north, Sarvapriya Vihar(Outer Ring Road) towards the south and Asiad village(August Kranti Marg,Sirifort) to the east.

It also contains various Diplomatic missions such as of Iraq,Burundi and Macedonia and is home to notable persons like cricketer Virender Sehwag.

Geography

It was developed during the 1960s by DLF which divided this colony into two areas namely Hauz Khas (Main) and Hauz Khas Enclave. Hauz Khas Main consists of A,B,C,D,E,G,H,M,X,Y,Z blocks whereas Hauz Khas Enclave consists of F,K,L,P,Q,R blocks.

E block is the Main market here and lies in the middle of the colony and also boasts of a multi-level parking lot(scheduled) and G block,Aurobindo Market are other markets closeby.
It consists of one of the largest green areas in Delhi namely Deer Park and Rose Garden.
It is near to the two major hospitals in Delhi, AIIMS and Safdarjung Hospital.

Historical Places like the Hauz Khas Complex which consists the Hauz Khas Lake or Royal Tank,a Mosque and a Tomb,all these are of the Khilji Dynasty.
Neeli Masjid and Chor Minar lie inside the colony.
Nearby designer boutique and restaurants hub is the Hauz Khas Village.

Nearby landmarks include Siri Fort Auditorium, Siri Fort Sports Complex,HUDCO Place and Yusuf Sarai Community Centre.

Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal 1 - Domestic) is 11 km from Hauz Khas. Indira Gandhi International Airport (Terminal 3 - International) is 16 km.
Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is 8 kms from here.
The Metro Station Hauz Khas(Yellow Line) lies towards the Outer Ring Road.

Education

Hauz Khas houses prestigious colleges like the Indian Institute of Technology,Delhi(IIT) and the National Institute of Fashion Technology,Delhi(NIFT). Hauz Khas also contains private schools such as Laxman Public School and General Raj's School.
